It Started with My Healing Journey

I learned later in life that movement would become one of my main self-healing expressions. As I was healing from the ending of my marriage, which I entered into at a very young age, I started attending my graduate program in Somatic Counseling and Dance Movement Therapy.

Through the program, I reached deeper levels of healing by learning how to work with nonverbal cues, understanding my own movement and breath patterns. Put together, all of this revealed a great deal about my attachment style, my trauma wounds, and how I look for love and acceptance from others.

I’m Excited to Support You on Your Healing Journey

What I love about Somatic Psychology is it offers an opportunity for the whole person to be present in their healing process; mind, body, and spirit. In addition, it offers an invitation for self-observation without self-judgement.

I am honored that you are considering me to walk with you on your healing journey. I am so excited to be part of the healing providers at April Lyons Psychotherapy Group. I’m always grateful to hold space for anyone partaking in conscious healing.

My Life Outside of Therapy

I was born and raised in New York city & grew up around a lot of diversity. I lived in Atlanta GA for high school before I moved to CO when I was 20yrs old. I grew up as a vocalist, having performed in Accapella groups and I also became the female vocalist for Cleo Parker Robinson Dance theater's holiday production that has been running for over 20years. I studied modern dance and West African dance, eventually rooting myself to Latin & Zouk dancing. When I'm not holding space as a healing practitioner, I am also a Professional Mermaid. Who would have thought that one could actually become a real life mermaid, and after age 40?? I am a true believer that as long as we still have another day living under the sun, we have another day to let life continue to surprise us
