Are you considering eating disorder treatment?
This is no small task. This is war.In your own body. You’re battling an eating disorder. You will need your strength for the attack on every unhealthy thought. You will need a clear battle plan that can bring peace and make the war inside a thing of the past.
Eating Disorder treatment is that plan. I know that, right now, a truce with your body and mind seem a long way off. But if you develop a trusting alliance with your therapist, you can be victorious. You can do this. Consider the following battle plan:
Gather the necessary intelligence: Know The Eating Disorder
You, your body, your food, your weight, and your concerned loved ones are not the enemy. Your fight is with the disease that is constantly trying to invade your mind. Constantly trying to tear down your self-image, and batter your self-esteem. Here is some basic information:
1. Eating disorders are damaging to your physical and emotional health.
2. Eating disorder sufferers need to seek professional help.
3. Eating disorders have the best outcome by early diagnosis and prompt intervention.
4. Eating disorders can become a prolonged, harmful battle for your life.
Establish your Alliances: Get Proper Support Support is crucial since your treatment will be specifically tailored to you. Assemble your strongest allies:
1. Care should be supplied by a number of professionals. They often include a psychotherapist, psychiatrist, nutritionist, and primary care caregiver.
2. Care should be managed and directed by an eating disorder expert.
3. Care may be supported with family therapy, group therapy, and other support groups.
Take Action: Keep fighting
There are a host of real mental, emotional, biological, and societal factors causing or influencing your eating disorder.
Care may be provided on an in-patient or out-patient basis. This depends on the disease progression and severity. The key is to follow the plan so that you can soundly defeat the eating disorder war within you. Here are common ways to fight strong:
Psychotherapy: Eating disorders respond best to counseling. You will learn to express your emotions. You will learn to love who you are. You will improve your ability to cope without leaning on your disorder. Expect to share a great deal about your history and present circumstances. Different forms of therapy usually include individual counseling and group counseling. Individual counseling may include a single type or a blend of several types for your circumstances. Group therapy, may be used as well. This type provides you with the opportunity to meet with a therapist and other people sharing the same struggles.
Family-based therapy is especially helpful for minors and encourages parental involvement.
The length of counseling varies from a short time to several years. Counseling will help spur you on. You’ll be able to regulate your eating patterns. You will be able to develop healthy habits. As well as, cope more effectively, and improve your moods.
1. Medical monitoring: This will reduce the bodily damage the disorder has caused you. You may receive a full medical assessment and lab work. Medication may also be a helpful option, but must be administered under supervision.
2.Nutritional counseling: This will helps educate and inform you. As well as, support your nutritional needs. By engaging in this process, you will learn the tools to view and eat food properly. Your body is a precious resource. The eating disorder is busy inside looting and stealing. Force it to surrender. You’re worth the fight.
